Choosing the Right Level
Start Low, Increase Later
When unsure, start with a lower permission level:
- Invite with Read access
- See how they engage with the server
- Upgrade to Write if they need to make changes
- Promote to Admin only if necessary
By Role
| Server Role | Recommended Level |
|---|---|
| Co-owner/Partner | Admin |
| Senior Moderator | Admin or Write |
| Moderator | Write |
| Helper/Junior Mod | Write |
| Community Member | Read |
| Visitor | Read |
Owner Permissions
The server owner (you, the creator) has:
- All Admin permissions
- Access to billing and subscription
- Ability to delete the server
- Cannot be removed from the team
Ownership cannot be transferred. If you need to transfer a server, contact support.
Security Considerations
Protecting Your Server
- Grant minimum necessary permissions
- Review team members regularly
- Remove inactive members
- Monitor activity logs for unusual actions
Red Flags
Consider removing someone if they:
- Make unauthorized changes
- Share access with others
- Act maliciously
- No longer need access
