5-Minute Quick Start
Get your game server running as fast as possible. Follow this streamlined guide to go from zero to playing.
Prerequisites: A payment method (credit/debit card) ready.
The 5-Minute Process
Create Account (1 minute)
- Go to host.plex.gg/signup
- Click Continue with Google or Continue with Discord for instant signup
- Allow the permissions
- You're in!
Alternative: Sign up with email (add 1 minute for email verification)
Start Server Wizard (1 minute)
- Click Create Server or Get Started
- Select your game from the list
- Choose your plan:
- Starter for small groups (2-4 friends)
- Pro for communities (10+ players)
- Click Continue
Location & Checkout (1 minute)
- Select location - Pick the closest region to you
- Or click "Auto-select" for the best option
- Choose billing - Monthly is fine to start
- Apply any discount codes if you have them
- Click Checkout
- Enter payment details
- Click Pay
Configure Server (1 minute)
- Name your server - Something fun and memorable
- Set password (optional) - Leave blank for open access
- Skip team invites for now - You can add people later
- Click Create Server
Wait & Play (1-2 minutes)
- Watch the installation progress
- Play Snake while you wait!
- Once it says Online, you're ready
- Copy the server address shown on screen
- Connect with your game client
That's it - you're done!
Your First Login
When your server is ready, you'll land on the Dashboard:
- Copy the connection info at the top
- Share with friends so they can join
- Use the console to run commands
Quick Tips
Connect to Your Server
- Open your game client
- Go to Multiplayer > Add Server
- Paste the server address from your dashboard
- Connect!
Run Your First Command
- Click Console in the sidebar
- Type a command (depends on your game)
- Press Enter
- Watch the output
Invite a Friend
- Go to Team in the sidebar
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email
- Choose Write permission so they can help manage
- Send invitation
